Stop The Silence: Breaking the Chains of Women and Child Abuse

Shekinah Divine Glory Theological College

November 2023

The silence is deafening. For far too long, women and children have suffered in silence, their voices muffled by fear, shame, and oppression. The statistics are staggering: 1 in 3 women worldwide have experienced physical or sexual violence, and 1 in 5 children have suffered physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.

But today, we say enough is enough. It’s time to break the silence, to shatter the chains that have held women and children captive for far too long.

The Power of Silence

Silence can be a powerful tool. It can be used to protect, to comfort, and to heal. But it can also be used to control, to manipulate, and to oppress. When we remain silent in the face of injustice, we become complicit in the perpetuation of that injustice.

The Consequences of Silence

The consequences of silence are far-reaching and devastating. When we fail to speak out against abuse, we allow it to continue, unchecked and unchallenged. We enable perpetrators to continue their destructive behavior, and we deny victims the justice and support they so desperately need.

How to Break The Silence

So, how can we break the silence? How can we create a world where women and children are safe, valued, and respected?

  1. Listen: Listen to the stories of survivors, and believe them. Listen to the whispers of those who are still suffering, and amplify their voices.
  2. Speak Out: Speak out against abuse, in all its forms. Use your voice to challenge perpetrators, to support victims, and to demand justice.
  3. Support Survivors: Support survivors of abuse, through practical help, emotional support, and advocacy.
  4. Educate Yourself: Educate yourself about the issues surrounding abuse, and share your knowledge with others.

At Shekinah Divine Glory Theological College, we are committed to breaking the silence surrounding women and child abuse. We believe that every individual deserves to live a life free from violence, exploitation, and oppression.

Will you join us in this fight? Will you use your voice to speak out against abuse, and to support those who have been affected by it?

Together, we can create a world where women and children are valued, respected, and protected. A world where silence is no longer an option.
